RoRetro

Privacy

RoRetro is a browser extension for roblox.com. This note covers what it keeps about you and what this website stores if you choose to sign in. Short version: your playtime never leaves your browser unless you link it to an account here, the extension sends a small anonymous usage message once a day, and you can delete everything at any time.

Last updated: October 30, 2026.

In your browser

  • Settings (theme, on/off switches) are saved with your browser's extension storage, which your browser may sync between your own devices.
  • Playtime: while your browser is open and playtime tracking is on, RoRetro checks your Roblox online status (the same status your friends see) about once a minute, and every 30 seconds while you're in a game, so it can count games however you start them. It keeps each session's game, start time and end time in your browser. These checks only go to Roblox. You can switch tracking off in the popup.
  • Keep counting after you close the browser (optional, Chrome, Brave, Edge and Opera): lets the browser keep running in the background so playtime still counts. Nothing extra is sent.
  • RoRetro never asks for or reads your Roblox password, and never sends your Roblox cookie anywhere but Roblox. Server regions, game details, prices, trades and everything else on Roblox pages come straight from Roblox.

On this website (only if you link a browser)

  • Your account: your Roblox user ID, username and display name, which the RoRetro game sends when you type your sign-in code (stored with Supabase, our database host). Accounts made before Roblox sign-in also keep the email they signed up with. To stop people flooding the sign-in page, the website keeps a scrambled (hashed) copy of your network address with each sign-in code; codes are deleted after a day.
  • Linked browsers: a name like “Brave · linked Oct 1, 2026” and a scrambled copy of that browser's link key — never the key itself.
  • Playtime sessions from linked browsers: Roblox user ID and username, game ID, place ID, game name and icon address, start time and end time. Each linked browser also downloads the sessions your other linked browsers uploaded, so the popup and Roblox pages show all of your playtime.
  • Imported playtime, only if you ask us to bring over time from an extension you used before: the Roblox account, each game and how long you played it (per day, if the other extension kept days), where it came from, and an optional note.

Your sessions are visible only to you, when signed in. Imported playtime is visible to you and to the RoRetro team members who handle imports (the owner, managers and support), so mistakes can be undone. None of it is shared, sold, or shown publicly, and none of it is used for ads.

The RoRetro team (the owner, managers and support) sees overall totals across everyone — how many accounts and linked browsers there are, hours played per day, and the most played games — never one person's sessions. A game is only listed there once at least 3 different players have played it.

Extras on Roblox profiles (only if you add them)

  • Your Roblox account: if you verify one on My Roblox profile, which Roblox account is yours. We check a code you put in its About once; you can remove the code afterwards.
  • Discord name and background picture you add: shown on that Roblox profile to everyone using RoRetro. Remove them any time on My Roblox profile, or unlink the account.
  • Likes: which profiles your account liked. Others only see the total.
  • Reports: what you reported and why. The RoRetro team (owner, managers and support) sees reports, and the Roblox account that owns a reported item, so they can act on it.

Comments, trade ads and community themes (only if you post them)

  • Item comments: what you write, the item, and the Roblox account you posted as. Everyone using RoRetro can read them. You can delete your own.
  • Trade ads: the items you offer and want, your note, and the Roblox account. They show on the trade board for 3 days.
  • Community themes: the name and colours of a theme you share, and how many people installed it. Which themes you installed is saved with your account.
  • Deleting your account removes all of these.

What the extension asks this website for

When you open a Roblox profile or item page, the extension asks this website for that profile's likes, Discord name and background, or that item's comments. The request carries that profile or item ID, plus your browser's link key if you linked one (so it can show what you liked or posted). These look-ups aren't saved; our database host keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, like any website.

On Firefox, none of this (or anything else in the sections above) is sent until you press Allow on the page RoRetro opens the first time you link or post. You can switch it off again under Add-ons → RoRetro → Permissions.

Bug reports (testers only)

  • What you write in a report on /tester, the page link, RoRetro version and browser you fill in, and a screenshot if you add one. Only you and the RoRetro team members who handle reports (the owner, managers and support) see them, with your Roblox account so they can follow up. You can take a report back until the team answers it, and deleting your account removes them and their screenshots.

Anonymous usage stats

Once a day the extension sends one small message with: a random ID it made up (it isn't linked to you, your Roblox account or an account here), the extension version, your browser (Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera or Firefox), the theme you use, and whether playtime tracking and Quick Play are on. Nothing about games, playtime, pages or times. The RoRetro team only sees totals, like how many installs use each version. On Firefox it follows Firefox's own "technical and interaction data" switch (shown when you install, and later under the add-on's Permissions tab): switch that off and nothing is sent.

Deleting it

  • In the extension: the popup has “Delete all playtime” (under My playtime data) and “Unlink” to stop uploading.
  • On this website: My stats → Your data has “Delete all website playtime” and “Delete my account”, which removes the account and everything saved with it. Removing a linked browser stops it uploading. Imported playtime is listed there too, with a Remove button for each import.
  • Uninstalling the extension removes everything it kept in your browser.

How your data is used

RoRetro uses this data only to run the features described above. It is never sold, never used for ads, never used to decide credit or lending, and never shared with anyone else, except our hosting providers (Supabase for the database, Cloudflare for this website) who store it for us. RoRetro's use of information received from Chrome and other browser APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
